No Tax Rate Hike: Fulton County Schools Keeps Millage Rate Steady

The Fulton County Schools Board has unanimously approved maintaining the millage rate at 17.080 for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026. According to the FCS Board Bulletin, this marks the seventh consecutive year that the rate has either remained steady or decreased.

Although it may seem counterintuitive given the fiscal challenges faced by the FCS, rising property values in Fulton County have allowed the Board to avoid increasing the millage rate as a temporary solution.

It’s important to highlight that property taxes contribute approximately $897,052,202, or 64.72%, to the General Fund revenue for FY 2025-2026, making it the largest source of revenue for the General Fund.
